More than 85% of farmers in India are smallholders. For agriculture to be sustainable, it is crucial to explore ways to increase their income. Strengthening farmer producer organisations (FPOs) is one way to ensure that agriculture remains remunerative for farmers and that they are immune to supply or demand shocks, resulting from natural or man-made contingencies.
In this section we explore methods and enablers which can contribute in increasing farmer incomes, and define actionable and measurable insights for the higher impact for farmer.
