At the heart of health literacy, lies the purpose of empowering individuals to take charge of their well-being.
For individuals to access quality healthcare, awareness and self-awareness about health and the implications of health-seeking behaviours is crucial, and communities play a vital role in this.
The National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India (GoI), is committed to India achieving its 95:95:95 targets by 2030. GoI’s goal is supported by The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). As a part of NACO’s focus on Community System Strengthening (CSS), Community Led Monitoring (CLM) was implemented in 14 high HIV burden districts in India with the support of USAID, India, to accelerate the country’s overall response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
