Soumitra comes with more than two decades of experience in diverse and complex sectors, including social sector innovation, impact in under-developed regions of India, global infrastructure development and advanced telecommunications. He is a former senior Civil Servant having spearheaded high-impact initiatives of the Government of India in the Social Development Sector, notably the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP), positively impacting 160 million people, and the world’s largest biometric-based Direct Benefit Transfer, benefiting over 8 billion recipients.

By leveraging his experience in Public Policy, Foreign Policy and Telecom Policy, he has consistently excelled in multi-stakeholder environments, collaborating with philanthropic organisations, foreign diplomats, international aid agencies, and all levels of public administration in India.
