An economist by training, Arun has over 19 years of work experience including 10 years as a macroeconomist. He has an additional eight years of work experience in policy research and business consulting, advising diverse client organisations including the government, multi-laterals, large corporations, and SMEs. His areas of expertise during these areas has ranged from MSME policies for financing and skilling to market entry and product diversification in sectors such as Healthcare, BFSI and Textiles.

As a Principal at Sattva, Arun is an integral part of the Foundations leadership team with the mandate to deliver value to customers, contribute to market engagement and thought leadership, and engage in organisation-building efforts. He leads engagements with global philanthropies and the government that involve conceptualising and co-creating impactful solutions to complex strategic and policy issues. Generating rigorous and actionable research is often at the core of such engagements.

Previously, he has developed and managed businesses, and run highly diverse teams over the course of his career, working with organisations that include Credit Suisse, ANZ Bank, Dun & Bradstreet and Morgan Stanley. After transitioning to the development sector, he has briefly worked as an external consultant with The Nudge Institute before joining Sattva in 2022.

He holds an MPhil in Development Studies from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), an institute run by the Reserve Bank of India in Mumbai.
