Nikhil John brings over 18 years of experience across various roles spanning consulting, strategy, research, business development, and fundraising in the start-up ecosystem, financial inclusion, corporate finance, public policy and social impact sectors.
As the Regional Head of Non-Profit Advisory at Sattva, he leads multi-year engagements with non-profits to design, implement and scale programs and organisations to create systemic impact.
Prior to Sattva, Nikhil was the Portfolio Lead of the Civic Tech team at Social Alpha where he mentored social enterprises. He made a full time foray into the social impact sector in 2013 and joined IFMR Holdings (currently Drava Trust) where he worked closely with the CEO to advise their rural, branch-based wealth management subsidiary and helped raise $26 million in funding. He began his career in the corporate world at Nera Economic Consulting where he primarily worked to create data-driven economic reasoning to succinctly articulate complicated subjects
Nikhil co-authored the article, “Investing in the Transformation of Financial Access in India”, Foreign Affairs, Special Issue: The Innovative Finance Revolution: Private Capital for the Public Good in 2017.
He holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Economics on a full tuition merit scholarship from Bard College, New York.
At Sattva he is eager to play a significant role at solving at least one of the pressing problems faced by society and Iook forward to enabling the non-profits of South India in their stellar work.
